WEEK 3: We rode our bicycles through the beautiful old Incan city of Huánuco Pampa, learned about the network of Inca trails called the Qhapaq Ñan, met a lot of cute dogs and finally made it to the Cordillera Huayhuash in Central Peru! What a week!

We are riding our bicycles from Peru to Patagonia.

We rode our bikes over Peru's Cordillera Blanca, over 16,000 ft elevation and lived to tell the tale! Not bad for our first week back on the road.

A big THANK YOU to BioLite, Smartwool + Rogue Panda Designs, who had us warm, charged up, well-fed and outfitted for this rugged week in the wild mountains of Peru.

Rolling hills, surrounded by colorful mountains, hundreds of alpacas, vicuñas and llamas and eating some of the best fruit ever! Perhaps our favorite week bikepacking Peru so far. We finished the week riding through the magnificent Nor Yauyos Cochas Reserve -- one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen.

With the diverse landscapes, wild views, amazing camping and lack of cars, I’m convinced the Peru Great Divide is the best touring route in the world. I pushed my bike for just 500 metres in total, so it’s also very rideable.
